Who We Are

For the past 130 years, The Youth Campus has helped the Chicago area community care for its most vulnerable children. At the time of its founding, the most at-risk children were orphans from the Civil War. For about fifty years, our organization sheltered and educated orphans and girls from families overwhelmed in various ways. Gradually, The Youth Campus began to care for other vulnerable children, especially those who had been removed from their homes because of abuse and severe neglect. Over time, The Youth Campus developed services reflecting the reality that today's "orphans" have more complex needs than those of the past.

Today The Youth Campus community includes a selfless Board of Directors, dedicated staff, foster parents, neighbors in Park Ridge, donors and volunteers from the entire Chicago area. Most importantly, it includes the children!
