The agency is a member of the Child Welfare League of America, the Child Care Association of Illinois, the Foster Family-Based Treatment Association and the National Association of Homes and Services for Children. In addition to licensing and accreditation standards, The Youth Campus abides by the Standards of Excellence for the Management and Governance of Child Welfare Organizations set forth by the Child Welfare League of America. ADOLESCENT RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT PROGRAM The Youth Campus provides a residential treatment program that gives adolescents a structured and caring environment to help them develop the skills necessary to become independent and productive adults. Children accepted into the program reside in cottages located on our 13-acre campus in Park Ridge. These cottages provide comfortable home-like residences that are staffed around the clock by child welfare professionals. The achievement of treatment and education goals allows residents to leave the program and return to the home of their parents or other relatives, be placed in a foster home, enter a transitional living program or live independently. Sometimes children must be removed from their homes to ensure their safety and well being. When this happens The Youth Campus' immediate priorities are making sure the children are safe and their physical, educational, social and emotional development is sustained. We recruit, license and train foster parents to provide safe temporary homes to children in need. We also arrange for the permanent placement of children in our care with adoptive parents or relatives who assume guardianship. The ultimate goal for our children is for them to be placed in loving homes in their home communities. The Youth Campus also offers additional programs such as the Caregiver Support Program that provides a mix of clinical services and personal supports for biological and foster families that have children with medical or developmental challenges; Pathways to Development an exciting, fun program that provides development opportunities in the arts and sciences through classes, free tickets and passes, family workshops, summer camps and a mentoring program. JOIN THE YOUTH
CAMPUS FAMILY The Youth Campus is looking for people who want to become part of our family. We need caring people who want to become "advocates" for children and are willing to work in partnership with biological parents, human service agencies, courts, schools and others. The Youth Campus recognizes the significant commitment required to be a foster or adoptive parent. That is why we support that commitment by providing comprehensive services to our parents before and after placements are completed. Regular training sessions are held to empower our parents to become the strong and able advocates who can make a positive difference in a child's life. Our professional staff visits families to assist with stabilizing children, coordinating needed social and medical services, facilitating biological family visits for foster children, and resolving other issues that may arise. Our licensing and adoption staff will be happy to talk with you about becoming a foster or adoptive parent. They will be happy to answer all your questions and provide the facts you need to make an informed decision. Annual Adoption Report and Attachments
