HopeFest volunteers (50) and some TYC staff volunteers spent 9am-2pm on Sunday, 9/11, transforming the Park Ridge site. A 26-yard dumpster of yard waste was filled to overflowing. Five TYC residential clients participated in the Food Pantry project of HopeFest. The tremendous community effort was a great benefit to The Youth Campus.

Join us on October 19, 2011 as The Youth Campus teams up with KaBOOM! and SAP America to build a playground for our Foster Care Village. We are seeking 100 volunteers to help on our Build Day and 20 volunteers to help us prepare on October 17. Volunteers do not have to be trained, skilled or have any special tools! With record rainfall this summer, everything is overgrowing at The Youth Campus. TEAM LOCKTON to the rescue! Her team has a special name for Andrea, but they were busy workers all day Thursday, August 25th. Beth, Dave, Joel, Tyler and Vicki moved fast and made the TYC grounds beautiful! Through this banquet at Petterino’s The Youth Campus officially thanked the caring families, who have opened their homes and hearts to 110 children. The evening’s program and booklet provided TYC an opportunity to highlight many foster parenting successes. Singer, Sharon Pulliam, and magician/comedian, David Shareef, added to the festivities. Also, new officers for the Foster Parent Advisory Group were elected.

About 70 guests joined the girls of The Youth Campus for a picnic. Several police officers, fire department staff, aldermen, neighbors and board members of TYC attended. Special gift bags prepared by Kiwanis with help from Avon were given to the girls. The girls and attendees participated in Double-Dutch, Free Throw and Frisbie Golf contests. The glorious weather and fantastic hospitality offered by Kiwanis with help from The Summit made for a great event.
