Who We Are

July 2, 2012
Dear Friends of The Youth Campus

We wanted you to be among the first to know that The Youth Campus and Children's Home + Aid will be combining our organizations. The Youth Campus board conducted a thorough process to arrive at this decision and believes this partnership adds real strength for our shared mission to best serve children and youth at risk. Our organizations have a shared history, each agency founded more than a century ago by visionaries who were inspired to improve the lives of abused, neglected and disadvantaged children and their families. Further, we share a strategic vision for "Best Results, Best People, Best Reputation". This partnership and our shared resources will lead to higher quality services and service innovation resulting in even greater impact.

Our organizations have similar foster care programs, and Children's Home + Aid is widely recognized as a top performer in providing child welfare services. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) has approved this program transition. We have confidence that this will be a seamless program integration and transition for our kids, families and staff.

All employees of The Youth Campus will have the opportunity for continued employment with Children's Home + Aid. The combination closure is scheduled for August 1, 2012.

The leadership of Children's Home + Aid very much wants for all of us to continue our support of the shared mission and work. We intend to establish the Park Ridge Auxiliary of Children's Home + Aid to carry on our community's legacy of care for children and families at risk.

Please refer to the press release for additional details including the pending sale of the property and a wonderful public/private resolution for the Park Ridge community. This is a positive step for the continuation of our mission. We are joining a wonderful organization, financially stable, and dedicated to providing quality services to children and families. We will now be part of an organization that has a broader continuum of care and enough resources to do creative and novel work.

We thank you for your patience and continued support as the leadership of The Youth Campus determined the best plan and use of our resources to preserve the mission and legacy of The Youth Campus to make a life changing difference for so many boys and girls. The Youth Campus board hopes that you will join us as we enter into this exciting new chapter.

Sincerely,

Kevin T. Buggy
