Hope Lives Here
In the early 1900s, two extraordinary women—Hannah Solomon and Jane Addams—created a new model for children’s residential care on a sprawling farm in Park Ridge. They envisioned a group of small homes, each managed by a housemother, to help children feel they were cared for in a family. Under their leadership, the Illinois Industrial School for Girls, an Evanston orphanage, was transplanted and transformed into the Park Ridge School for Girls, a pioneering alternative to large institutional-style orphanages. A century later this organization, now known as The Youth Campus, continues its mission of hope for today’s most vulnerable children—those traumatized by abuse and severe neglect. It has expanded beyond the historic Park Ridge campus to help over 270 children annually across the Chicago area.
These children deserve a new start, often a new home and people who believe in them.
Children’s lives will be changed by your contribution and the hope you give them.
